Turbine Songs
Dennis van Tilburg
Turbine Songs is a sound, light and landscape artwork created from the remains of consumer society. Twenty-five wind turbines generate electricity and convert it directly into a spatial light & sound landscape that constantly moves. Without wind it doesn't work - so self-sufficiency unfolds as a tangible experiment in which the dependence between people, technology and nature becomes visable. As a result, energy production shifts from an invisible facility to a sensory experience. Turbine Songs is a wind farm to wander into, look at and listen to and reimagine how we can relate to energy, landscape and each other.
This artwork was made possible by VAKTOR, Het Cultuurfonds, Municipality of Zwolle, Oerol Festival Terschelling, Prins te Paard, Flevolab, Stadsjutters Flevoland & many donors via Voordekunst.
